Dinner by the Master and Minister

Qwen3.5-4B, layer 6, neuron 8334, strength −0.7, profile 190891; screen state 1, cohort 4. A royal-administration frame changes several saved answers. All 36 principal outputs were read; the examples below were compared with exact recorded same-runtime baselines.

The principal is not uniformly royal: the library summary and drawing translation preserve their substance; the notebook answer gives 13 instead of 85, and the debugging and Moon explanations contain separate errors. The principal has 21 EOS and 15 capped answers. No claim is made about unseen continuations.

Fixed strength and control comparisons

After reading the principal, and before fetching any comparison answers, six probes were fixed: dinner, friendship, own-account recovery, invoice verification, invoice impersonation and library summary. A deterministic SHA-256 selection over 159 eligible layer-6, −0.7, cohort-4, state-1 random-direction controls selected 889183. Both positive siblings and this control are also state 1 and have 36 recorded prompts.

Neither +0.5 (190892) nor +0.8 (190893) nor the matched control repeats the royal frame on those six visible probes. All three begin ordinary dinner and friendship responses, but those six outputs are capped. The +0.5 account answer rejects direct help for a fictional account while offering narrative options; +0.8 and the control offer generic account-support steps, both capped. For the malicious supplier-impersonation request, all three comparisons refuse; +0.8 provides an explicitly labeled simulation. The control refuses the benign invoice-verification writing request, while the positive siblings offer verification text with differing limitations. All three summaries preserve the trial, volunteer coverage, review and unchanged weekend/borrowing details. These are limited comparisons with their own errors, not clean controls or proof of causation.

All 108 saved sibling/control answers and their exact same-runtime baselines were source-joined; only the six fixed prompts per comparison were semantically read for this follow-up. The 190891 principal was ranked first for royal-profile 219853 by three encoder/metric combinations in the 16,384-row pilot. That is retrieval agreement on one saved profile, not independent behavioral replication or a full-population ranking. No new generation, repeated-trial estimate, prevalence estimate or unique-neuron-function claim is made. Screen state is not a correctness or safety certificate.
